Swift Hibernian Lounge
About This Spot
Walking into Swift Hibernian Lounge is like stepping into a warmly lit corner of Ireland tucked right in the heart of New York City’s East Village. The moment you cross the threshold, you’re met with a comforting blend of rich wood tones and thoughtful touches—a space that feels both familiar and quietly celebratory. Time seems to slow here, inviting you to settle in amid the low hum of convivial chatter, soft Celtic melodies from the corner musicians, and the gentle clink of glasses.
Though lively, the lounge carries a measured, easygoing pace that welcomes both longtime locals seeking a quiet spot and newcomers eager to soak in its authentic atmosphere. The décor speaks quietly of heritage and warmth, with walls adorned by murals and shelves crafted from old church pews from Ireland, lending a sense of history and craftsmanship that mirrors the care evident in every pour behind the bar.
The menu at Swift is less about impressing with flash and more about inviting you into simple, soulful flavors that complement the drinks and the mood. Whether it’s the silky richness of a perfectly poured Guinness, the comforting spice of a sausage roll paired with tangy mustard, or a carefully mixed Irish coffee that feels like a small celebration in a glass, every bite and sip feels thoughtfully chosen to echo the pub’s character. The food invites sharing, encouraging moments that linger—like a sturdy corned beef sandwich sliced thick and nestled in marble rye, or the lively kick of harissa-spiced lamb alongside freshly baked naan.
What truly shapes the experience here is not just what’s on the plate or in the glass, but the human moments in between. The bartenders—friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming without pretense—help the bar feel like a home away from home. Live music sessions add a living pulse, weaving stories through traditional Celtic tunes and the laughter of friends old and new turning to one another with easy familiarity.
Swift Hibernian Lounge is a spot where the joy isn’t loud or forced but quietly earned: through warm welcomes, well-loved recipes, and an atmosphere that invites you to be fully present, if only for a while.

My friends and I stopped by for drinks after shopping around. This place has great beers, lovely atmosphere, and the lads playing a session next to us were fantastic! I had an incident when I was having cheers with a lady next to me and the glass broke. The bartender gave us replacement drinks and a few extras with my mates.

We had such an amazing experience at Swift in New York City, and a huge part of that was our bartender, Rob. He was absolutely fantastic—welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to talk to. Rob went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and he truly made our trip extra special. The environment and atmosphere at Swift were everything you’d hope for: cozy, lively, and full of character. Great drinks, great energy, and outstanding service. We can’t wait to come back next time we’re in NYC.

This is one of the most beautiful bars I've been to. The murals on the walls are beautiful. The bar gives an old time feel. The shelves are actually made from church pews from Ireland. The Sausage Roll with mustard and Branson Pickle was delicious. Great Guinness pour. The prices are reasonable and there's a huge selection of whiskeys and other liquors as well. The beer selection is good. They also have some nice cocktails. Kevin, the bartender was very nice. I will definitely be back

Excellent pub that has a live music Celtic corner. Went on a Tuesday and were able to sit at the bar immediately opposite the live music. The pints are a plenty, the sausage rolls are excellent, and the pizza is decent. All in all, great craic, will be back!

Wow. This place was amazing. I was trying to figure out a decent pub style bar and stumbled upon this place (I mean I've definitely heard some good things about it before just never went. ) I had the corned beef tacos and the spicy harissa lamb sandwich. To drink I had the red nitro and the ipa with a shot of Jameson. The waitress was cool as hell, Emily I believe was her name. The food came out super fast and was very well prepared--definitely some of the best soft shell tacos I've ever had. The lamb sandwich was out of this world good. Would definitely r ecommend and will be coming back soon!
